Upper School (Years 9 to 11)
Welcome to Upper School (Years 9, 10 and 11)
We are committed to ensuring all our pupils achieve their full potential in the GCSE examinations and develop the skills needed to pursue their chosen pathway in their Post 16 studies. We want to encourage our pupils to aim high and, ‘reach for the stars’ when thinking about future careers.
This is an exciting time for the pupils as they will be choosing and studying the courses they wish to follow. They will also be preparing for public examinations for the first time. There will be a greater focus on learning skills and effective revision systems, as well as a chance for pupils to reflect on their efforts and visions by working through our VESPA programme.
Alongside their academic studies we will continue to broaden their knowledge in areas such as careers, morals and ethics, wellbeing, and cultural enrichment through our extensive PSHE programme and activities. There are a number of opportunities available to help them acquire the skills and attributes to be successful both in the classroom and beyond, such as Ambassador Training, the Duke of Edinburgh Award and visits to universities.
