Speak Out

At Mayfield Grammar School, we believe in diversity, equality, and inclusion for all members of our community. We want our school to be a safe space for all, where all students feel able to speak out if they need to. We encourage students to report all forms of discrimination and we will listen, support and liaise with other agencies, including other schools, in order to deal with the problem.

We expect our school environment to be one where all members of the community model respectful and appropriate behaviours and where our students are clear about what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour and where they are confident to ask for help and support when they need it.

Our Speak Out group meets weekly to discuss issues and formulate actions to support our community. So far, the group has delivered assemblies, a cultural day and fashion show and provided information to students on hate crime, micro aggressions and feminism.
