Learning Excellence and Aspire Programme
Mayfield’s Learning Excellence and Aspire Programme (LEAP) begins in Year 7 and is our extended curriculum programme. Students collect work from across their curriculum which demonstrates the essence of each subject discipline and demonstrates their talent. Students then conduct guided independent study of subjects they are passionate about before leaping into some big questions that develop their cultural capital and areas of interest.
Students work is accredited on a Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond or Platinum scale which contributes to an overall award. Students collected body of work is recognised at the end of the academic year with a celebration evening, at which students receive an overall award and recognition that gives them confidence as they leap into the next stage of their school career.
We value this opportunity to develop students’ passion for learning, ability to deploy academic language and chance to exercise their creativity grounded in rigorous subject-specific contexts.
