As well as our website, the school will also register its closure on the Kent Closures website www.kentclosures.co.uk The information put on this site by the school is available to any parent who accesses the website, the local media and local radio. In addition, parents can opt in to receive text messages when a relevant closure notification is logged. Please note that our own school website should be the first place to check for the most accurate and up to date information.
During bad weather, we are in constant touch with railway and bus companies and will endeavour to monitor weather warning information and public transport etc.
However, please ensure you have agreed a contingency plan with your daughter/son. It could be to go to the house of a friend who lives closer to school and ring you from there. If we are forced to close the school during the working day each student will be advised to contact their parent/guardian using their mobile phone or the school telephone and they will not be able to leave the school site until they have confirmed their travel arrangements with their form tutor. If parents are travelling to school to collect their daughter/son, we will provide a warm room where students can wait. In any event, please ensure that your daughter/son is aware of these arrangements.
